Steve Mona became the World Golf Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer in March 2008. His current responsibilities include overall management of the Foundation, including oversight of the World Golf Hall of Fame, The First Tee and GOLF 20/20. The organization’s mission is to develop and support initiatives that positively impact lives through the game of golf and its traditional values.
Mona has established a strong career record of service to the golf industry. He has held positions with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (CEO, November 1993 – March 2008), Georgia State Golf Association (Executive Director, June 1983 – November 1993), United States Golf Association (Asst. Manager of Press Relations, January 1982 – June 1983) and the Northern California Golf Association (Tournament Director, September 1980 to January 1982).
In 2012, Steve was named to Golf Inc.’s “Most Powerful People in Golf” for the 12th consecutive year and ranked above Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Greg Norman.
