Mark Powell is the founder and CEO of Practical Plans, an innovative, web-based estate planning solution that caters to young families and individuals in California. Powell, who has nearly 20 years of deep legal seasoning, is the managing partner at Albrecht & Barney, an estate and gift tax law and estate planning firm in Orange County, California. He is a certified specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Powell received his law degree from Mercer University School of Law and is a graduate of University of Georgia.

Powell serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law in the taxation program at Chapman University School of Law. He is also a member of the American Bar Association (Taxation Section), Orange County Bar Association (Probate and Trust Section) and the Orange Coast Estate Planning Council. He has written extensively in a variety of media and has been named by Worth magazine as one of the “Top 100 Attorneys” in the estate planning field.
