Jennifer is an expert on the end of life from a variety of perspectives: as a professional healthcare educator and advocate, caregiver of aging parents, and cancer survivor. She has presented hundreds of programs to the public and professionals at local and national conferences on hospice and palliative care, advance care planning, caregiving, healthcare public policy, healthcare ethics, palliative sedation, multicultural and multispiritual issues at the end of life, and other topics.Jennifer earned a Master’s degree in End-of-Life Studies from Regis University with graduate honors and a Bachelor’s from Oberlin College, Phi Beta Kappa. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Gerontology from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She co-chairs the Colorado Advance Directives Consortium and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Healthcare Ethics Forum and the Colorado Senior Lobby. She has published in the Senior Law Handbook of Colorado, and the American Journal of Hospice & Palliative Care, CSA Journal, Natural Transitions magazine, and serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Palliative Medicine. She previously served as Director of Programs for the Colorado Center for Hospice and Palliative Care and as Research Program Strategist for The Denver Hospice.
