Contact me for: Erin Yourtz is a consultant who works with public schools and non-profit organizations to address educational disparities and foster safe and welcoming environments for all students. She facilitates professional learning communities with cohorts of schools, develops and administers targeted professional development trainings for teachers and staff and conducts student and family focus groups. Her work is grounded in research on student academic mindsets and how improving these mindsets is the foundation for academic achievement.

Ms. Yourtz earned her degree from the DU Graduate School of Social Work, focusing on policy and anti-oppressive community practice. She has managed a statewide grant program for school districts piloting anti-bullying programs, trained educators and school staff across the state on state and federal safe school policies and best practices in bullying prevention, and managed a comprehensive statewide strategy to make schools more welcoming, inclusive and safe for LGBT youth. She is currently working with Aurora Public Schools in Colorado to improve academic mindsets through student inquiry, culturally responsive family engagement and equitable teaching practices.
