Carolyn S. Baker has been an educator for more than 30 years. Upon her completion of her undergraduate degree from Longwood University in Virginia, she taught in Indiana, Florida,Tennessee, and Texas. She attained a master’s degree from Rollins College in Florida and went on to earn a doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. Carolyn founded the Nashville Catholic Middle School Forensic League and coached the forensic team at Overbrook School for 14 years. She has been an adjunct instructor for Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee; Springfield College satellite campus in Houston, Texas; and the University of St. Thomas in Houston , Texas. Her interest in those with special needs began after her brother, Mark, was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Carolyn authored “Last to Leave Home” a book about her brother Mark as an adult and his journey from the family farm to a group home. Carolyn has two daughters and currently lives with her husband in Houston, Texas. Her website includes a blog and book purchase opportunity.
