Bob Lawhead



For the past twenty-five years Bob Lawhead has served as CEO of Community Link, a non-profit agency supporting community integrated employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Bob received his MA Ed. / Educational Psychological Studies from the University of Colorado in 1985. He is Past President of APSE (previously the Association for Persons in Supported Employment) and presently co-chairs their Public Policy Committee. Bob is also a board member of Colorado APSE and serves as their Public Policy Chair. He has authored, Conversion: from Segregated, Sheltered Workshops to Supported Employment, published by APSE in 1996. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation for the past decade and presently sits on the Professional Advisory Board for the National Down Syndrome Congress. Bob has promoted regular community employment for people with cognitive disabilities through parent education, systems change consultation and public policy advocacy. He and his wife Anastasia have one child, Jess, who experiences Down syndrome, and is fully included within his neighborhood high school.
